Getting your plugin running
Licence keysKeys are tied to a machine and issued by hand, so this is where most questions start.
How do I get my licence key after buying?
After payment you receive the installer by email. Install the plugin, open it in AutoCAD Plant 3D and use Request licence. It shows your Machine ID.
Reply to that email with the Machine ID, and the key comes back by email. It is generated for that specific machine.
How long does the key take?
Keys are generated by hand rather than automatically, so they do not arrive instantly. Expect yours within three working days, usually sooner.
If it has been longer than that, write — something went wrong and I would rather hear about it than have you wait.
I bought several seats. Do I get one key or several?
One key per seat. Each key activates a single machine, so a five-seat order gives you five keys to hand out.
I changed computer. Does my licence move with me?
Yes. Your licence is perpetual and is not lost when hardware changes — send the Machine ID of the new machine and a replacement key is issued.
Replacing a computer you have upgraded or retired costs nothing. The old machine's key can be deactivated once the new one is issued, so remove the plugin there.
The key was rejected. What now?
Check that the Machine ID you sent is the one from the machine you are activating; keys are bound to a single machine and will not work on another.
If it still fails, send me the key and the Machine ID as they appear on screen and I will look at it directly.
Trying before you buy
TrialBoth plugins have a free trial with nothing switched off.
What does the trial include?
Seven days, full functionality. Not a demo mode and not a feature-limited build — the point is to find out whether the tool saves you time on your own model.
Can I extend the trial?
If seven days genuinely was not enough to test it on a live project, write and say so.
Installing and updating

Which versions of Plant 3D are supported?
AutoCAD Plant 3D 2024 through 2027, on Windows. You need your own valid Autodesk licence — MKCad is not affiliated with Autodesk.
Do I pay for updates?
Not within the major version you bought: bug fixes and new features released for it are included. A future major version, such as moving from 1.x to 2.x, may be a paid upgrade.
Does it need an internet connection?
It needs to reach the licence server now and then, not constantly. Between checks it runs offline for up to about three weeks; after that it stops until the licence can be verified again.
If your network blocks outgoing connections entirely, check with your IT before buying, and write to me if that is a problem.

Do I get a VAT invoice?
Yes, for every order. Enter your company details and EU VAT ID in the order form and the invoice is made out to them. It arrives within three working days of payment.
Can I get a refund?
Within 14 days of buying a plugin, yes, and you do not need to justify it. The licence ends and the key is withdrawn.
The course is not refundable once access starts, which you confirm at checkout. If something in it does not work as described, write and I'll put it right.
The course

Where do I watch it?
The course has its own platform, separate from this site. You get access with the email address you enrolled with, and that access does not expire.
I can't log in to the course.
Start with the password reset on the course platform's own login screen. If that does not get you in, write to me with the email address you enrolled with and I'll sort it out.
Do I need Plant 3D installed to follow along?
Yes. The course follows the software step by step, and you get the project files so you can compare your model with mine at any stage.
